Thresholds

The process of public procurement is governed by a number of European directives, which have been implemented in UK legislation. The European directives and the UK and Scottish regulations which implement the directives set out detailed procedures for the award of contracts whose value equals or exceeds specific thresholds. The thresholds are defined in Euro's and so the equivalent values in pounds sterling are updated every two years. Details of the thresholds applying are given here. Click on one of the items below.


Thresholds applying from 1st January 2016

The European public contracts directive (2014/24/EU) applies to public authorities including, amongst others, government departments, local authorities and NHS Authorities and Trusts. The directives set out detailed procedures for the award of contracts whose value equals or exceeds specific thresholds. Details of the thresholds, applying from 1st January 2016 are provided in this document.
